It Feels Like It's Been a While.
It hasn't really, has it? But it FEELS like it has. So, bah, you're getting a nice chunky long post because work is boring me to CRAP and I fancy like going on a bit. So here's a virtual mug of tea and a virtual armchair and we can have a virtual chat. Lord knows only a few people ever read this anyway.

I agree with you on the sci-fi point, and I'm also not particularly a big fan of fantasy. Well, most fantasy. I love some dark fantasy like Pan's Labyrinth and things that have fantasy elements in them but nope, not a Lord of the Rings fan.
I'm glad you like 'The Picture of Dorian Grey', it's one of my favourites. :)
*four thumbs up to Oscar Wilde*
And I always enjoy looking at those little Doctor Who figures on your mantlepiece. Aw... So cute...

Pan's Labyrinth was very good, but I think with that most of the appeal was in how firmly grounded it was into reality. (personally I found all the fascist stuff and normal violence in that way more disturbing that the monsters-trying-to-eat-you stuff).
I remember trying to read Lord of the Rings and losing the will to live when hundreds of pages in they were still sat around having a teaparty and all the characters had such complicated names and ancestries that I didn't actually know who anyone was.
And i'm only on chapter 3/13 on Dorian Grey. I need to listen to mooore :D
I also need to save up my pennies for more timesquad figures, they always make me smile when I look at them. Plus it makes my sister happy since she gets all the duplicates in the packs I buy lol

lol, that sounds quite like my reaction to Lord of the Rings.
I like it a lot, partly because of how notorious and controversial it was at the time. But the story is really good too.
I need to start collecting some of the figures... I've got a remote control Dalek Sec though :D

Much with the ditto. lol
I know what you mean about controversial: though I don't really know the history around it, some of the more risky opinions he gives, as well as the fact that (to modern sensibilities anyway) most of the characters are gay for one another.
Well, Basil(?)(the artist) at least completely fancies Dorian and wants him all to himslef in my opinion so far :p lol
And that's cool :D I can't help but keep adding to the list. I convinced my sister to get me a captian john hart figure for christmas, so now i want a captan jack one to match him, then I want to collect some master figures to match the doctor.... *list goes on* :p
