Dreaming aloud as a dynamic duo

She settled on a 240-page, spiral-bound notebook and a five-pack of blue pens. She declined to decorate said notebook with stickers, or any other kind of affectation, because that would defeat its purpose. The book, she insisted, wasn't about presentation but imagination - it was a place in which her ideas could roam free, unfettered, without the ( Read more... )

That's sweet. And awesome. I wish I'd had the support and understanding you routinely show LJ.

I hope the transition to different media goes well for her. It's not always easy and I think it's important to remember that not every method of story teller will suit everyone. I don't understand, and will probably never attempt, radio. I've also had trouble staying interested in a story using the traditional comics-storyboarding format. A notebook that's not tied to one particular style or medium is a damn good idea. I hope she avoids as many pitfalls as possible- you know what I mean.

I do. And so far, so good. The best symbol of that is how she's coming up with stories other than super hero tales... her mind is already exploring new genres and styles, thanks to it being loosed from toys and Lego. The sky's the limit, now.

What a dynamic duo too!
"But I'm so damn grateful for every single second of every single Saturday morning for the past seven years. Living in LJ's world has been a privilege and the best fun a Daddy could ask for. Thanks, kiddo, for letting me dream aloud with you"
I'm sure that she feels the same, that having a Daddy that was happy, even eager to join her in that play is something rare and something for which to be very thankful.
What great memories the two of you will forever share. X

That we shall indeed. As for her being lucky, well, I'm simply paying it forward on behalf of a mum who recorded my Masters of the Universe games on cassette tape, and a nana who always had the time to build Lego cities or play with little metal Star Wars figures :)

I love all of these ideas, but Iron Man & Ironclad and the 'new Bat' storylines in particular made me DO WANT.

LJ says: "Well then, Moogs, get yourself over to my house - I have notebooks for you to read!"

Cheeky lass. More accurately, should our (long term) plans to visit your side of the world come to fruition, I'll have the little monkey bring said notebooks along for your enjoyment :)

It's like I just read a bumper issue of Previews Retailer Magazine! XD

Batman, Steve/Sam/Natasha & Thanos' stories pique my interest the most. Thanos continues to earn the ire of all the heroes & there's going to be a LOT of GLs wanting to beat him to a pulp for Kilowog.
