Comic conventions are fun, wrestling tours are awesome and celebrity interviews very, very cool, but the weekend I most look forward to, every year, is Toy Fair. It's an indescribable feeling: walking into a hall full of old toys, rummaging for treasure, racing other collectors for bargains, celebrating your discoveries and bemoaning missed ( Read more... )

Best way to get rid of the smell... bury them under bicarb soda for a few days.

Still a little sad I missed out on my wooden Titanic model, but the fun of playing Devil Dice is taking the sting out of that one a bit :)

Gawd, Devil Dice brings back memories. Retro gaming heaven. That, some Everybody's Golf, some Micro Machines and Medieval, you mashing the blasted "X" button so's no one could get near you in WWF Warzone...

My only question about bicard soda: would it do anything to the rubber/paint? These guys seem to want to dissolve at the slightest provocation, frankly.

I am the master of the mash!

The bicarb shouldn't effect the paint. If the figures are sticky rubber, it may just mean you will need to rinse the bicarb off if any sticks, but it shouldn't bugger up the paint :)

This cruel, cruel mother is glad you had such a good time and found so many treasures! However I notice that the vehicle and the much desired missile was locked away from me when I visited! I'd have to find something much higher than the fridge nowadays!! ;- P

You know what you'll find most amusing? Today I found the missile rolling around loose inside the cabinet. Turns out it had fired, of its own accord, whilst behind the glass (thankfully, neither glass nor toys were broken by the unexpected launch). It's now just resting in its socket, rather than being locked down in the firing position.

And pppbbbttt to you! :P

Well! This comment - "Turns out it had fired, of its own accord, whilst behind the glass (thankfully, neither glass nor toys were broken by the unexpected launch)." Just proves that Mothers know best! Just imagine the carnage that could have followed the unplanned firing - years ago and now!!

And pppbbbttt to you too! :P

;-) xx
