Up in lights and incandescent

A few weeks back, stareyednight's director took her aside after a rehearsal. "I wanted you to know I'll be doing some extra one-on-one work with the other members of the cast but there's nothing to worry about," she said. "Thing is you're absolutely stealing the show with how good you are, so I need them to all lift their game to match you."

I've faith the director is good at her job, and that my wife's cast-mates are talented at their craft. No amount of intensive co-operation, however, can counteract the fact stareyednight is simply luminescent. Myself and a group of friends attended the show's opening last night and were blown away by her performance. And the rest of the show was great, too.

Mere words can express neither my pride nor my delight. Handed the grandest stage in this city, my lady love broke a leg and knocked 'em dead. She's shown what we've always known: that she's the best-kept secret in local acting. Thing is, I've a feeling the secret is now out, and that she's about to become a lot busier.
