'Bot babblings
I've been sick the past few days. Very, very sick. "Hello migraine, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again." Ugh.
So instead of anything deep and meaningful, here: have, courtesy of raisedbymoogles, a Transformers meme!
1 - Name every Transformers series you have watched:
The Transformers (aka G1), Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Animated and the live-action movies. I have a very full DVD case.
2 - What was your favourite series?
I have a real soft spot for Robots in Disguise, because it's what brought me back to the franchise after so many years, but in terms of story I'd say Beast Machines. Yeah, I'm a heretic.
3 - Have you read any of the comic series? If so, which was your favourite?
I've read them all - in fact, I far prefer the various comics over the cartoons. My favourite comic series is The War Within and my favourite version of the TF canon) is the UK continuity. That, IMHO, is the real story.
4 - Which faction do you prefer?
Autobots, all the way. I've never seen any reason to side with the Decepticons.
5 - Which character (or characters) do you like most?
Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, Thundercracker, Grimlock, Optimus Prime and Nightbeat, in that order.
6 - Why do you like them so much?
Very short version: Magnus was my favourite hero growing up and one of my inspirations when times were tough; Hot Rod and I share a personality; Thundercracker's moral crisis appeals to me and he was the first large toy I owned; Grimlock is a damn fascinating mixture of bestiality and nobility; it's impossible not to like Optimus Prime; having a TF private eye is one of the coolest concepts ever.
7 - What is your favourite pairing? Write 'none' if you are not a pervert:
I don't have a favourite pairing, as I'm not into TF slash. But thanks to my wife's interests, I've (grudgingly) come to see that Blaster/Perceptor and Inferno/Red Alert could work.
8 - Why do you like this pairing so much, you deviant?
No deviancy here, bub.
9 - What sort of sex do you like your robots to have?
None. I'll buy romance between mechs and femmes, even mechs and mechs or femmes and femmes, but I can't see a non-biological race aping such a biological act.
10 - Dress someone up. Who is it and what are they wearing?
Starscream in women's clothing and high heels. You know it works.
11 - If you were a giant transforming robot, would you be a pirate or a ninja?
A journalist. Better than both put together.
12 - What are your thoughts on Transformers reproduction?
TF bodies are produced, via protoform tech, as per the specifications of their leader or faction. The Matrix is then used to instill them with life. In my own fics I go one step further: TFs who chose to partner up (we'd call them relationships) design protoforms that boast a mixture of their abilities prior to exposure to the Matrix. That's as close, I feel, as 'bots or 'cons get to the idea of children.
13 - If Huffer and Gears threw down in a fight, who would win?
There'd be no fight, because they'd be unable to agree on a time and place for the biffo.
14 - RUMBLE IS RED OR IS THAT FRENZY IS BLUE OR RED WHAT?
Rumble is red, Frenzy is blue. There's no dispute on that, ever - the toys are the proof.
15 - Do you have a folder full of Transformers porn on your computer?
Do photos of my collection count? If not, then no.
16 - How many pictures does it have in it?

17 - Your thoughts on Transformers gender. Give them to me:
There are two subsets of TF design: mechs and femmes. Mechs boast heavy-duty chassis, are equipped with more powerful ballistic weaponry and have alt modes with four wheels or more. Femmes are more aerodynamic, faster, kitted out with bladed or hand-to-hand weaponry and usually only have two-wheeled alt modes. Humans would view these differences as gender; to TFs, it's like comparing an SUV with a sports car. Different designs for different purposes. TFs that fall somewhere inbetween these design specifications (Blurr, Strika) would be considered "androgynous" by puny fleshlings.
18 - Kiss Players is the best thing to happen to Transformers. Do you agree with this statement?
Hell no.
19 - Do you roleplay? If so, where, what, why, how?
Nope.
20 - Are Transformers SERIOUS BUSINESS?
Not ever. The more fandom gets pissed off, the less interested I am. It's much of the reason I've backed off so much over the past few years.
