“Dean, this isn't you. They gassed you with meteor rocks.” Chloe took a step back, her heart pounding in her chest. “Dean, can you hear me?”
Dean could hear her clearly. Hell, he could hear her heart beating as if his ear was on her chest. But he wasn't listening. He didn't have to listen.
He pushed Chloe against the wall, his hands pinning her wrists above her head. He leaned into her and breathed in her scent - lavender, definitely lavender, with an underlying hint of fear. He licked her neck. She tasted sweet, promising. He snapped his teeth at her. She shook underneath his hands.
“Dean, let me go. You need help.”
“Not a chance, baby,” he growled. She was his and he would have her. He pressed his body against hers. Then pain exploded between his legs. He hissed in a breath, doubling over. He let go of Chloe's wrists as he fell to the ground.
Dean heard her shoes click against the floor as she ran. She could run, but she couldn't hide. He then heard her shoes stop. Puzzled, he looked up to see her rummaging through her purse. He pushed himself to his feet. As he regained his foot hold, the pain vanished like the doctor had promised.
Dean met Chloe's eyes. Determination showed in their green depths.
“Why aren't you running, little girl?” he growled. Not only was he stronger and faster, but his senses were enhanced tenfold. He heard her heartbeat pick up speed.
Chloe pointed a gun at him. “Good thing you taught me to shoot.” She pulled the trigger.
Dean prepared himself for the inevitable bullet. None came. Instead, a steady stream of liquid hit his chest at full blast. First came the cold, followed by an ache in his muscles. He crashed to the floor and the world went dark.
When he opened his eyes, Dean saw Chloe looking over him. She smiled and the world seemed to brighten.
“Dean?” she asked.
He blinked. “What happened?” He ached all over.
“Dr. Hoff and her cronies kidnapped you and turned you into a meteor freak experiment.” She sat down next to him and held up the gun. “Water pistol. Sam and Clark tortured the antidote out of the good doctor. I hit you with it.”
Dean groaned. “I feel like you hit me with a truck.” He closed his eyes against the pain and struggled to remember what happened. A beautiful brunette had sauntered into the Talon, offering to buy him coffee. Like an idiot, he'd accepted. Everything else was a strange blur.
“Don't worry, babe. The ambulance will be here in a minute.” Chloe's voice was a calm safe haven.
His eyes snapped open. Chloe. Pinned to the wall. He looked at her.
“Chlo, did I...hurt you?”
She scoffed, waving one hand. “Please. You can't take me on your best day.” But he didn't miss the subtle shake her voice took on.
Dean stared at the ceiling and sighed. This would be the last time he'd ever let a strange woman buy him coffee at the Talon.
