I'm feeling old...

Mitch started TAFE today (that’s Technical College for the uninitiated *wink*). It’s scary to think of him actually at a tertiary institution with no one to hold his hand and lecturers who really don’t care if you do the work or not.

Testosterone anyone? )

you don’t change the oil; it leaks out and you replace it as required

*blinks* Wow. I'm the most uninformed and terrible driver in the history of automobiles, and even I know this kid's wrong. What's he even doing in that program?

Heehee, Maddy. Well, she has good reason to preen.

I have no idea! I'd love to know how he got through the interview process, because they threw a few questions at Mitch that he probably would have stumbled over or given the wrong answer totally.

She does *g*

Surely to goodness that lad at Mitch's college is pulling their legs.He must be. If he's not, then I'd keep my mouth shut and learn as quickly as possible. I definitely don't need any more testosterone in this house. *Yay* for Madddy and what a great school she goes to!

Somehow I don't think he is. I've a feeling he didn't get the marks to do anything else, so he simply settled for something, but he doesn't know anything about the field he's about to build a career in.

Bugger! Are you sure? I only need to off load a truck load little *puppy eyes*

Maddy's school are very good at making sure the individual child is catered for, though not usually at the top end (they have magnificent programs for those who struggle). I'm just glad she has a good teacher who recognizes the value in challenging her :)

Wow :O I dont know how to change a tire but I know a button under the hood doesnt do it. Daddy does ;) lol Seriously tho, That kid will be luck to make it the first week. Im glad Mitch enjoyed his first day, well as much enjoyment as he could get out of safety instructions :P
Oh Maddy! Its not nice to be singled out but at least she realizes that it kicks ass to be a genius! :)

I doubt he'll be there for very long *shakes head* I'm still wondering how he got through the interview process! None of the boys were terribly impressed with yesterday, but then they didn't really understand what an induction course was *smirk*

It's not, but she's put a positive spin on it, so that's good :)

It makes my blood run cold to think he might be working on someone else's car and getting paid for it!

Our system is all about getting kids into trades rather than into University. We don't have colleges like you do. We have universities, which are run totally differently to colleges (no sorities or group housing or anything like that - it's all about education). Mitch is very basically at a trades college - it gives him the opportunity to start a trade apprenticeship while he's still at high school :)
