Today is wet and drippy and gray and cool, and the cats are being adorable and friendly (even the shy one!). It's a good day. I like rainy days ( Read more... )

Cleveland is gray like that, as well, but, um, it's Cleveland. (Although if you get a job offer from Case Western Reserve University, DON'T TURN IT DOWN.) Of course, the universe decides to make me a liar today; it's moderately sunny and warm and definitely not raining (although it's supposed to tonight).

My most-used needle is my size 8 16-inch circs, because they're great for hats and HP scarves. :) My yarn preferences are: cheap, non-itchy (might try merino sock yarn in near future -- any preferred brands? cherry tree hill [er, whatever it's called] LOOKS pretty . . . ), and probably worsted or light worsted-weight, because I have attention-span issues. :)

*googles CWRU Psych department* Hmm. But is Cleveland, like, gray and cloudy with not much rain, or gray and cloudy with rain? Because, having lived in Minnesota, I know that gray and cloudy without rain is kinda dreary. BTW, did you see the 30 Rock episode about Cleeeeeeeeeveland? It's hilarious. :)

I LOVE Cherry Tree Hill. It's so squishy and brightly colored and GORGEOUS. I'm also a fan of Lorna's Laces. My mom has two pairs of socks, one CTH and one LL-- it looks like the CTH felted and faded more than the LL over time, though that's HARD wear and washing. What I don't like is Koigu KPPPM-- it's really highly twisted, which makes it hard on my hands, and I find the colors sort of soup-like and mushy instead of pretty. There's also Louet Gems, which comes in solids, is cheaper, and seems like nice stuff. Of course, I stupidly purchased the black, so I don't want to have anything to do with it.
