Every year I put that postcard in a safe place. Then when I look for it, I can't find it. That's too safe. What color was it? Anything I can do at this late date?
I forgot my postcard last year. Left it sitting safely on the fridge and spaced out the big note on my packing list: POSTCARD!!!
Anyway, point being, that I just had to go to the problems line at pre-reg badge pickup, fill out a form, show my ID, and bingo, I had a badge. Now that they've implemented the bar code system, I still had to wait less time than I had to get my badge in past years. Honestly, under half an hour total and entirely painless.
I have the same problem, I already contacted the Dragoncon office and asked what I could do about it. You just need your ID for pick up. The QR code on the card just speeds things along, but they can still find your badge without it. I was told it was already too late to resend a card.
Well I never recived a postcard in the mail to begin with and I emailed them and this was the reply: "As you can see below, you're all set in the system! We did try and send you a confirmation postcard for you, but I guess the postman didn't think you needed it ;-( The good news is, that you don't need your postcard, just stand in the pre-registration line with your photo ID (School ID, birth certificate copy for any unaccompanied Minors works just fine). The fine people in registration will look you up, and print your badge for you. It takes about 20 seconds longer, but you're good to go! (Unfortunately, we can't re-send the postcards...it's too close to the show)"

At this point though, they'll likely just tell you not to worry about it.
