Running at Dragon*Con

Now that the dust has settled a bit, this is a follow-up to zarathud's post on running at Dragon*Con.  I'm curious to see how many people braved the heat, humidity, and hills of Atlanta over the weekend, and who might like to get together to run next year.  While I wasn't able to meet up with anyone through LJ this time around, on Monday morning I asked ( Read more... )

My husband might be interested, so long as it doesn't interfere with football.

The most I've ever run is 3.5 miles, and I go sloooow, but you never know how next year will shape up. We shall see?

Could have sworn you've run more than that, wabbit. ;) Running to the edge of Piedmont Park and back is under 4, so I think we'll be able to work it out. :)

Hello, I'm super interested for Thursday and Friday, and usually I can even swing Wed night, if people are there Wed (I know some ppl who are).

This year was just plain crazy. I did my runs either really early in the morning (like 5AM) or really late (11PM) in the gym.

Wow, that's much earlier/later than I was able to get runs in - I found it easiest to go in the morning, except for Thursday, when I ran in the afternoon since my plane landed in the morning. I'm not planning to be there Wednesday (although Thursday is becoming the new Friday), but Thursday and Friday would be great, I'll keep you posted.

I only had one run during the con, early on Friday, and the 'All Your Base' remix ended up coming up on the random shuffle on my mp3 player for the first time in a longgg time, and it was very con approrpriate and great, a good moment. Also D*C people in the elevator on the way back up to my room asked me how my run was and complimented my nail polish. :)

I'd love to do one next year with a group, because hopefully by then I'll be heartiter -- at this point I need 8 hours of sleep before a run, which I was not getting at con post-Thursday night, heh.

Put me down. I don't know if I can run *every* day, but I would participate.I ran last year (2010) and enjoyed running through Atlanta and Olympic Park.

Will do! We'll all do what we can, time is a tricky thing at cons and it's nice to have that extra motivation of running with others.
