We ended up with one of the smaller suites at the Marriott one year due to a mix up with our groups reservation. It was nice to have, especially with only 5 of us. But when we looked into renting it again the price was ridiculous. We would have had to cram about 12 people into it to make it worth the price. I don't remember the exact details.

Check out Hyatt Place - they have suit-type rooms with kitchenettes. It's not far from the Hyatt/Marriott. There also used to be a Residence Inn but that might be Hyatt place now. I've stayed at a Residence in a couple of times and they're pretty nice. One I stayed at had 2 BR/BA with queen beds, plus there was a double sleeper sofa in the living area. I think you can get them with 2 double beds in each BR but I'm not sure.

A place like that is more likely to be a lost less expensive than a suite at the host hotels.

Got upgraded to a Marriott suite a few years ago because of reservation mix ups. The size was awesome and it was super nice for our group especially with all the costuming we do. But like the first person to respond, when we looked into the price to see if maybe we could do that again for the next year the price was insane!

This year the Marriott was asking for $150 extra/night on top of the Con rate to upgrade to a suite, and this was an option you could ask for during check-in, at least on Thursday.

Floors 9 and 11 there seem to hold a large number of suites, as well as the very top floor or floors, which can be accessed by two glass elevators or the previously mentioned super fast windowless elevator.

Only an extra $150? All things considered, that's really not that bad. The one year I looked into it, suites started at $500+ per night, and that was for the smallest suites (and that was also when regular rooms were somewhere around $165 per night).
