I got the news a couple days ago. Myself, and two other con-goers, have been moved to the Omni Hotel due to the renovations at the Hyatt ( Read more... )

Just a side note...

I called to check on my own reservations for 2 rooms after seeing this post and apparently they had cancelled one of the rooms without telling me.

Others may want to give them a call just to confirm their reservations haven't changed.

We called yesterday to confirm out of paranoia. Out reservation in a room in the International Tower is safe!

I was one of the lucky 100. Like most everyone else I was quite outraged. Considering this is the 3rd time I've been burned by hotel poor planning and overbooking even after reserving early I was actually beyond outraged. I spoke to the manager with hopes of getting a room somewhere closer but had no luck. I was informed however that there will be a dedicated bus that travels between the Omni and Hyatt ONLY and will operate until 3 am which is good I guess but it's still a lame situation.
Ugh, I'm getting worked up again just thinking about it.

We got the email too. It's not really that big a deal for us as we don't usually go back to room until sleepy time, BUT they gave us a double instead of the queen we had at the Hyatt. I've been trying to get someone on the phone that can change that but the Omni says they have no control over it and no one at the Hyatt is there than can manage this. I left a message with Lindsey Elf. (I hope she's a good elf.)

But I'm going to try and get everything I can out of the Hyatt for next year. Last year we got bumped from a king to a queen and they comped us two breakfasts. I think this is worth at least 4 breakfasts right? Flustercluck.

We got the boot on Tuesday. I agree with Silver, we only need the Hotel for sleep. Yes, it sucks but you can not let it ruin your whole DC experience. Us refugees need to stick together, just think we are the "DC Elite 100".

Just out of curiosity, how many of you that got booted were Hyatt Gold/Platinum members?
