I'd like to share with you all one of the dumbest things I have ever said. Happened a few years ago, a little like this:

GF: "I saw Stephen Hawking on campus today."

Me: "Did you get his autograph?"

GF: "..."

Lemme tell you, no matter how smart I think I am, every once in a while a true gem of sleep-deprived fail will come out of my big mouth.

He is a weird dude. When I lived in Cambridge we would sometimes randomly run in to him around town. I never would have thought about th eautograph comment though. It made me laugh.
