Distressingly Brief

The PLAN was to mow the side yard and possibly the back yard so they'd match the neatened front yard. Apparently, the battery didn't recharge, so I managed to give the side yard a 8-foot wide mowed border with savannah in the middle before the battery gave out. I am MOST displeased.

It almost sounds like you and I are running parallel projects! The yard work, the de-cluttering and purgng of books and other household items. I find it therapeutic to thin out things and, in many cases, find them new homes. I'm seeing space opening up in various areas of the house and it's akin to someone lifting assorted weights off my shoulders. The worst thing I can do is set a deadline. That seems to cripple my efforts for some reason. So I have a vague goal of finishing the de-cluttering by the end of 2012. Thinning out the books seems to go in waves with the first being like running a small bulldozer through and then coming back later with a much finer tool and being much pickier about some things. Rule of thumb - if I wasn't crazy about the book to begin with - it goes! Incomplete series are potential candidates for removal and books Himself enjoyed but I'm not interested in are definite for removal.
