Err, this may sound a little weird, but...

Malcolm Cousland (the warden from the Sacred Ashes trailer)/ Solona Amell. Rough sex, maybe post-high dragon fight (gotta work off the extra adrenalin somehow, right?). They don't need to be in love (or they can be; whatever you like).

If you absolutely need a setup, maybe you could simply have an AU where there were 4 recruits (Malcolm, Solona, Daveth, Jory) and only those two survived and Alistair and Solona readily deferred leadership to him? Maybe?
