So, am still finding my way around computer games after a long hiatus. Is there something special I need to do to get the patch, or will simply logging into the server when I start up DA2 do the trick?
I'm hoping someone else will be able to answer your question, but if no one does before tonight, I'll see how difficult it would be for me to kludge one of my test save files to try to re-create it.
What precise parameters of your import are you trying to test out? Zevran romance, slept with him,...did your Warden live? Do the US? Basically any major decision you made with regards to what you're looking for, I need to know. :) (Although I can't guarantee the results reliably; bc I'd be re-creating the scenario manually, I could get a 'false negative'. If it's positive, then you should be okay. :)
Also, are you playing PC or console? If PC, then DM me and I'll send you my email address to send your save file to. Analyzing it directly would be easier for me.
And on that same note, I've imported since the update, and Alistair still doesn't acknowldge anything, either. THIS BOTHERS ME. A lot.
Also, I think one of the things that I'm only just now realizing is that possibly, my import has the game thinking that anyone who wasn't in my party at the end of 'Awakening' is dead? So that's everyone that isn't Justice, Velanna, and Sigrun. Not only do I never get 'Finding Nathaniel' with my imports (something I always just thought was due to my choice to always kill the Architect), but I keep getting "I thought you were dead" between Anders & Stroud when they meet in the Deep Roads. THIS DISTRESSES ME HIGHLY AS WELL. Honestly, I don't think I was aware that there was a bug that keeps the game from knowing if you've saved Amaranthine and Vigil's Keep. I always just thought that if I got epilogues for everyone, then the F'n game would know that everyone was still alive.
I think they've said imports from Awakening can be buggy, period, full stop, because of all the problems with the import from Origins->Awakening and the issues with Approval in Awakening. :/ They recommend importing from Origins...but that, of course, means no Nathaniel. :/

(Apparently analyzing save files for the Import bugs is my new hobby.)
