So I was going to get all these, or at least the first four, written and posted before the second episode Jossed me all to hell... but then medical issues intervened and I didn't. So, the great conundrum of fanfic: Finish the pre-Jossed fic or not? All of which is to say, no spoilers for anything but the pilot, and I think I'll finish the rest of ( Read more... )

>>he wants David to say it's not your story either....
>>"It's not a story"

I could picture Jack's dumbfounded stare after that.

>>"Kissing the king's daughter makes you a king," Jack says. "The king's son, not so much."

LOL! Poor Silas is going to have a funny anneurism when he walks out onto the lawn to see this

Mmm, no wonder Jack would fall in love with the man who lifts that oppressive weight of expectation from him. And of course it doesn't hurt that David is golden in the sun and beautiful in his sense of wonder.

By all means keep going with these! They're lovely - and it's the nature of a Five Things/Ways/Times that canon is superfluous.

>David is golden in the sun and beautiful in his sense of wonder

Yes. I think that as he grows, it will be hard not to be in awe of him- and Jack is in a position to feel that awe and also see the man behind it, if he looks. It would be hard not to fall in love, I think, no matter his personal resentment.

Eta: right, also (you distracted me with your gorgeous phrasing)- Thank you!

Fantastic! I just love how David turns the tables in the end, and how the weight seemed to be lifted from Jack's shoulders.
