I do Drag costumes for a living but I've never done a preformance, can anyone give advice. I am doing a show three weeks from now for my GSA and I'm clueless except for a few things.

Oh my, that is so cool! I have done theater, dance and drag-performers costuming but oh gee is it _hard_! Sticking to attire for myself, for the nonce. I admire someone with that kind of patience and resourcefulness to deal with sewing for other people ( ... )

Most of my costuming I meant is for myself meaning I do drag alot..I have never got onstage except to convince three women judges I was a young man and to show off costumes. But I have done costumes for other people and I am the mentor basically for two girls who are just getting into doing drag.

3) Work up an act around it. All to many times I've seen a king - and not just new kings - get up and improvise dance a little, look cute/and or hot, and think that's enough. Or they start with a clever idea or move but then peter out. Yeah, and, I've done it myself. I think it can be better, far better! Here are some suggestions on improving on this regrettably under-planned drag ( ... )

Awesome Advice this really did help

I hopefully will be Doing this at Steston University's Gay prom put on by Kaleidoscope , they asked me in January to King because although they have a lot of Drag queens ( very good ones usually) in this town Kinging isn't very big. I hopefully will have a partner and we're trying to go with yes I know its over done but " macho man" A) because I'm not that big but I can do a convincing strip tease with my Chest Binder ( underworks I recomend them)and B)I don't want to go into to advanced with her.

I am definately going to use a plant in the audiance, most of my friends have had me acting in character at cons and dont mind me humping or getting my bum or crotch in their face.

bluewolfskye.deviantart.com is where you can see some of my costumes if you're interested.

Just saved this into a word document

Thanks, I'm very flattered that you've saved it to refer to later!

Well that's lots to work with. Idea: Maybe you can work in some "it takes balls to dare to be a sissy" sort of stuff?

Will definately check out Deviantart!

Ah, I see you've be-Friended me, thanks!

I should warn you that most of my entries have little to do with drag, and more with my struggles with depression, my varied musings, TMI about my sex life (such as it is), my fruity art, and my perverse writings, whether slash fanfiction or original m-preg epics. Soooo if you want to un-Friend, I wouldn't be offended.

And! Did I say? Shoes. You probably already know this but if you're doing a character who would wear men's shoes then _get_ boy's or men's shoes - they just look different. Better go before I think of still more!

Already on it, I have combat jump boots since I'll be in my military uniform I use for another costume probably. If not I'll use my ex's shoes since he's my size and doesn't mind my usual habit of stealing his clothes.
