"And you have told him this?" "Yeah. Half a textbook later he still didn't buy it."

More than one, actually. (That shows the ones I have posted about 5000 words.)

...don't judge me.

arrgh. can never figure out how to reply on your journal. damn cyrillic. :)

I don't judge you for fanfiction in a personal way, of course. But I bet you can guess what I have to say about it at this point in your career, from a writing perspective.

Okay, so I didn't ever actually think about how long Beneath a Beating Sun was. And, upon realizing it, I kind of want to smack you. In a "holy crap how did you stay focused on this for so long GIVE ME YOUR SECRETS" way. Or just emulate this icon.

It takes talent. Or obsession. Mostly obsession, now that I think of it.

On an unrelated note, I think that CAIRN II should be my new internet nongendered-significant-other.

This is the problem with novels. We start out with clear ideas of how they should be, and most of the time they steadfastly refuse to become that. Generally it's a matter of meeting them on ther own terms, after investing a lot of time, sweat, aggravation and insanity. What distinguishes writers from most is that for us, it's worth it, in the end ^^.

Beneath a Beating Sun won't be formally published, as it's a work of fanfiction, though I have a good selection of other works I'm busily submitting to magazines and the like. If you're familiar with the Stargate:SG-1 universe, you can check out BaBS on Fanfiction.net. magibrain is mostly used for my fanfiction rambles, because even though they mena as much to me as my original works, it's often somewhat unseemly to let it be known that one writes fanfiction; talk about my original works (and occasional excerpts from them) stays mostly on this journal or on my "professional" journal, raven_radiation.
