Ooh, think that was me regards Mr. Cave and his not so nice Seeds. He is very good live - I have seen him tons of times and only once was it a bit of a duff performance, and even then it wasn't really duff, just comparatively speaking. And actually it was the venue's fault, not the band's. I AM FOCUSSING ON THE NEGATIVE, FORGET ME. It will be super because they are super, and you are super, so you will all have a super time together and it will be super :) And I'm sure the rest of the upcoming concerts will be the tops, too! I miss seeing live music, haven't done so in almost two years!
Can't believe you're still sans internet. How are you... like... alive? The internet went down at boyface's just for one night last month so we couldn't watch anything, and he does not have my extensive DVD collection so we were like... 'oh no will we have to actually talk to each other now what do we dooooo??'. I commend your strength.
Yar, twas you, mstardmusketeer my across the pond friend! ~looks up "duff" on the interwebs for definition! Huzzah! I am learning!
Thank you for the super super enthusiasm and compliment! He's playing at The Orpheum in Boston which is a quaint venue made from an old theater. Saw Nine Inch Nails there once, actually, and it was a great show. Intimate and such.
Wow, spending a night playing 80's trivia games is like my idea of the best night ever. This loss of technology/power entirely is opening up so many avenues of entertainment for you two! Judging entirely from the box, that game is perfect. Except obviously you need to get M*A*S*H out from the library.
I remember a few M*A*S*H episodes from TV, seeing the reruns as a kid, but that was so long ago. I did see the episode where the viewer is seeing everything from the point of view of an injured soldier. Child me was like, "This is cool." Now me agrees.
Keith and I cannot play chess again for awhile, because he beat me very quickly, twice, and the resulting rage/embarrassment I felt was too much. So maybe I can practice on the internetless computer for awhile.
The Trivia Adventure questions are so easy, it is almost painful. It is a children's game, so there. Luckily the rules only give you one question per turn and not you keep going until you miss one.
The questions most missed are ones pertaining to things that happened when we were too small to remember them. And then there are the delightful ones about the Soviet Union.
I think some adult decisions need to made like that. xD
You know, it's so nice to be away from technology sometimes. I mean, just to come home and have the choice of a book or a movie (which is technology but not like internet) is really nice! I don't understand when I read these articles about how people would rather go without shoes for a week than be without their phones for a week. Like, why?
I think I would die without shoes. I don't mean this in the girly way, but, like, in the way that I am always wearing shoes. My phone, however, is often forgotten...
Book or movie decisions are my whole life! Huzzah!
I was gonna see Nick Cave once quite a while ago. The show got cancelled though, I think because of September 11th even though it was in Chicago. I have not gotten to any concerts in ages, but I am going to see Green Jelly next week, so that should be interesting.
Interesting news about Clive Barker. I was also unaware of his near demise.
Nick Cave was amazing. He's 55 and totally out did Orgy. Not that he knew they were competing... But my brain just wept at how embarrassing the singer of Orgy was. But I did get to touch him a whole bunch, so, mission accomplished?
All I know about Green Jelly is the Three Little Pigs thingy. I would imagine they would be odd and fun in person.
Yeah, poor Clive. I don't think he's 100% now, either. Feels weak/tired, from what I have gathered of his internet bloggings. I want to give him a pat on the back and say, "Hang in there, man."
Yes, I bet Nick Cave was pretty good. Perhaps I will see if they are coming to our parts. I was pretty bummed about missing that show and then I forgot all about it until I read your post.
Green Jelly is interesting. I believe that they dress up in a lot of costumes during their shows. I'm sure that it is going to be pretty terrible, but that is ok. The album that Three Little Pigs on is kind of fun. You enjoy silly things, so you might like it. Check it out if you ever get a chance.
