Now that is ridiculous. Putting it very lightly there. We cannot/will not capture Osama bin Laden, but are eager to pat down an 8-year-old boy who coincidentally shares a name with someone that was *suspected* of being an issue? Way to go, priorities! *sarcasm* If I were his father, I'd be making an even bigger fuss about this and calling even more attention to this to get these vultures off of my son. Can only speak for myself, though.
If you read the entire article, his father's name is on the list too. The problem is, they are using names as the only criteria for discriminating against people. There needs to be more identifiers for them to go by than just names. Considering how corrupt some countries are, if I was a terrorist I would just buy a passport under a different name. It is ridiculous that they even have these lists.
Exactly. It is what quite a few people call "security theater." Rather than doing truly effective security (like Israel does) because of worries about people making claims of racism, they implement ineffective solutions that make it look like they are doing something (other than wasting taxpayer money).
