A reaction like that is just as good as words. :)

I swear, as much as I Do Not Approve of the Bayverse films, fics set in that universe tend to slay me. It's a weird paradox. lol

I haven't even seen TF4 yet. I have a copy of it thanks to my brain-twin but I've been holding off on watching it. I know what they did to Ratchet and I am not happy.

But some of the best writers are in this fandom. So it's a trade-off, I guess? lol

You know, I kind of had the same reaction as ladydragon did - I read it, squirmed a bit, re-read it a few more times and put it aside to think upon through the evening in order to comment today.

I'm not a Megatron fan, and when I read Megatron stories, I'm finding that I mostly like the ones from this 'verse. Like everyone else, Bayverse is hard to watch in the original, but kills me so nicely for fanfic. There's just a little bit more depth to the Bayverse Megatron, I think.

It's really fascinating to hear things from Megatron's POV. There's sadness and regret and betrayal and motive... and love. I didn't actually think Megatron actually felt a whole lot about Sunstreaker until that lovely line about him joining up with the 'waiting golden shadow' - my God, that line killed me.

Nicely done - can't wait to read more of this.

I will say that Megatron is not among the list of my favorites but he has grown on me. I've found that the more recent iterations of him are more sympathetic. Perhaps because we get more characterization than we ever did in G1. If there's one thing Bay!Megatron does it's that he comes across defeated by the end, not just by Optimus, but by everything in general. It makes him fascinating.

Megatron cared a lot more for Sunstreaker than he lets on, but part of the problem is that he lost Sunny as the war started to get particularly gritty and he hadn't really had the time to mourn. And he had his hatred for Optimus to cling to. He's going to have to pick apart these feelings in future installments, particularly after the DotM piece, and face everything he's been shoving aside.

Thank you!
