I like your vision of things. I like it a lot. I'll be the first to admit that the whole mess got real ugly before Martha or Donna even appeared on screen...and has stayed that way since. I'm just not looking forward to six months of chipper "In your faces!"...

I'm not looking forward to that either which is why I really hope that all three are put on equal footing when they're together. They all have something great to offer as companions and aren't competition. Just like Rose found out when she met Sarah Jane.

I sort of think though that we're all attracted to the companion that best fits our own personalities and the people who are vehemently anti anyone that isn't Rose are the type of people who embrace that little bit of jealous cattiness Rose had in School Reunion and think it's a good thing.

Definitely! And I'd be disappointed if he was "eh" about her being back. But I just don't see it turning into what a lot of fandom (on both sides) are acting like it will. I don't see Martha and Donna getting pushed aside for Rose. There will definitely be an emotional reunion though. How could there not be? But not at the cost of the others.

I would be so disappointed and aggravated if it turned into a pissy girl fight for the three episodes. There'd be no point to that. Besides, I want a cool Doctor/Martha/Donna/Rose Team TARDIS icon, and we can't have those if they all hate each other.

I have so many mixed feelings.

I like Rose, I love Martha. I am so protective of Martha and I want her to get along with Donna and Rose and not be treated like a second class companion. She got the shit end of the stick for a whole season and I just can not have her go through it again.

I am glad to see that Rose will be back and people will have closure and hopefully they can show she was happy and not pining for the doctor because that would be lame and any respect I have left for her would disappear.

We will see how it goes. Honestly I do not trust RTD to not push Martha to the side. If it was someone else, I would trust them but RTD? No.

I'm foolishly optimistic so I'm going to hope that there's a bigger picture that we haven't seen yet and that Martha got the short end of the stick in S3 for a reason. We'll see though.

I agree that I don't want to see Martha (or Donna) get treated as second-class companions in the face of Rose's return and I will be extremely upset if that's the case. It would also be nice for this to mean closure on Rose's part and we see her not pining. I'm sure by now she's moved on with her own life and we won't see any dripping mascara.

I hope it works out nicely. I would hate to be disappointed by this whole season.
