SG1 and Egyptian once again

Last night, when my iPod finally crunched SG1 and the language it chose was English (unlike my computer, which insists the only available audio track is Czech) I realized that the Egyptian actually sounds much better in the Czech version. Interesting ... this sounds as if what I hear about was true. You know I said in that Redial meta about Peter Williams saying his lines weren't translated (he is just spouting transliterated words from a dictionary with the 'e' added as a vowel as far as I can see) but Michael Shanks DID.

Anyway, if I get some time tonight I shall have a look at the second lot of stuff (the one you sent me via e-mail) and see how it goes with the translation I made a while back.

p.s. I am sure listening to something spoken by a person who is a native in your own language helps. When I was listening to The Mummy Returns translation [it was done by Stuart Smith who I am beginning to suspect a little these days] when the 'Egyptian' was spoken by British actors I was fine. When South African or South Americans got hold of it I was going ... wha??
