I found
this on Witchvox and couldn't believe what I was readig. Her argument, if it can be called so, is full of fallacies, and so full of hatred - I thought that's what a good Christian is not supposed to express. Anyway, to say Harry Potter is Wicca or even current witchcraft in general is ... laughable

Unfortunately, the one fear they've claimed has come to pass, and I blame them. There are ones among their ranks who thought that children would turn to Wicca b/c of what they read in Harry Potter books. Unfortunately those people do exist. I've sadly encountered some online. What is worse are Wiccan or Witchcraft sites that cater to Harry Potter fans as well.
That is NOT helping any real images. :/
This is becoming a two-tiered problem, one on the side of Christianity and one on the side of Paganism. What we *do* need are two people, one of each belief system, standing side by side to explain to parents and children alike the difference between truth and fiction.

Unfortunately, although I do agree with you about the two-people setting, I don't think it can work. If someone wants to believe it real, they will, no matter what *valid* arguments you present to them. There will be those who will call themselves Wiccan and will actually be casting mock-Latin spells. These won't work, but WTF. There have always been pagans with no reserach, who will worship goddesses as gods because they haven't checked their sources properly... I don't actually think Harry Potter can do any harm. If someone is stupit enough to believe it to be REAL, they're not clever enough to get involved in real paganism, which to me has been tons and tond of research besides the spiritually-fulfilling parts.
