He's a bit lazy and quite the exhibitionist, so when he finds out that Muggles have celebrities who do "magic," he's intrigued. Turns out, he's a natural (and also, he uses real magic). Anything else: I would be happy with either of the following scenarios - Draco finds stage magic fascinating and ends up working hard at it, only supplementing with real magic to gain additional fame. Or Draco gets frustrated with sleight of hand easily and decides to fake his way through it all.
