Not only have I used Potter's influence as savior of the world to strong-arm the Ministry into allowing us to bring Goyle's son to visit him, I also set about investigating the possibility of reducing the charges against him . . . which Potter doesn't yet know, and I find myself less than thrilled about

Emmy and Bean are finally in bed. That's the last time we let them stay up until all hours with Amelia. I'm sure Shane and Charlie are ready to kill us. I vote no more sleepovers until things are a bit more settled around here.

It's only a thought. I see no reason to burden her with committing to anything more substantial than babysitting.

You looked a bit depressed when I mention anyone else taking him, Potter. And you snap at me about getting attached. . . .

You can admit it, Potter. He's awfully cute, not to mention well-behaved. . . .

And not ours. Someone from one of the families could show up at the Ministry any day now and demand to have him - and it's their right to do so, we certainly couldn't stop it.

I just want him to have half a chance, you know?

I realize that, Potter.

You realise it, but I don't think you have any idea what it's going to be like when that day arrives.
