My twenty-first year.

Thank Merlin we decided on a reasonably early party, or we would still be trying to rid ourselves of unwanted guests. Some of us need to get to bed at a decent hour.

Yes, you, little britches. You've been up since dawn, and Daddy needs a break. I don't know, Morsel. Maybe we can visit The Burrow tomorrow to see if Amelia is there. If ( Read more... )

I'll bet that she misses you, too, pumpkin.

This is bloody ridiculous, Potter. I hope that if the situation were reversed, we wouldn't hold our children hostage to spite their friends' parents.

Should we owl him?

As if he would reply. I say that if no one turns up here tomorrow, which they won't, we put in a fire call to Molly Weasley to see if Anderson dropped the baby off there, instead. She would never object to having extra company.

I thought that he wasn't bringing her this week anyway on account of our vacations?

She probably insisted once she learned that the entire week would be devoted to setting up shop, as it were. Having a one year old underfoot is interesting enough when you're just puttering around the house, much less moving into an entirely new home.

Is it entirely wrong that I want to talk to Charlie about this whole mess?

Merlin only knows what his stance is. The tosser couldn't be bothered to pipe up the last time, so what makes you think he'd be willing to give up exclusive rights to his new ready-made family by making a stand against Anderson?

I'm not so sure. Charlie is, well...he's always been the calm, rational one. Even if he doesn't agree with what we did - which I fully admitted was wrong - he of all people has to understand why we did it. I mean, it's not like we set out to be meddling wankers or anything...

Quite, as the role of meddling wanker is presently being filled by my father.

I wonder if they've even discussed it openly.

I'm sure they did. Be a bit odd for them not to, don't you think?

Unless Weasley really is interested in nothing but keeping the peace under his new roof.

I take it this means we aren't invited to the housewarming party.

Evidently.

I could...try and talk to him again.

You won't win a battle against his pride.
