How apt to get this in an email on the same day I was asked by a doctor if we could get a drug that's apparently only available in Canada delivered to our hospital today! "Can't we get it on one of those motorcycle couriers or something?" Err...from CANADA?! First of all, that's not possible because there's a big fucking ocean in the way. Secondly ( Read more... )

motorcycle couriers

........................O.M.G.
my utter sympathies for having to work with him

since I don't think they even run a passenger ship between our countries anymore, I guess he thinks he's gong to put that motorcycle on a plane... -picture Indy Jones' son sliding into the holding bay of a B52 as it closes...-

I just don't know what he was thinking. His insistence that'd we'd need it in "roughly two hours" confused the fuck outta me too. We can barely get stuff from our regular suppliers 50 miles away in two hours! Lol! (I have to laugh or I'd bash my head against a wall until I cried)

Constant, infrequent headaches...

...I think I have one right now.

((Although, I'd rather have that than a large, brown stool ambulating in the hallway...))

13. While in ER, she was examined, x-rated and sent home. Part 1 thothmes March 5 2011, 07:18:26 UTC
It had been a difficult mission and a number of the situations that SG-1 had struggled through in the course of it had unpleasant echoes for Vala. Her quarters on base, usually a haven to retreat to, were too quiet. If she stayed there, she might think and thinking led to remembering, and remembering...

No. It would not do. She would find a diversion.

Cameron Mitchell and Sam Carter, she discovered, had cleared medical and left the base. Teal'c, she knew, had declared his intention to meditate, so that left Daniel, who proved to be very ungracious when she interrupted him. Really! What normal red-blooded male would turn away a raven-haired, voluptuous, interested woman just to peer over a collection of what looked like dinner rolls made out of clay, with chicken tracks on them?

She'd seen Daniel react to her outfits before. She knew he could be interested, intrigued even. But not tonight. Sometimes the man passed all understanding ( ... )

Francis Warner rushed through the door still tugging on his white coat, and stopped in surprise. He'd been told it was an emergency, but there on the exam bed was a woman reclining in a state that could hardly be called dress while striking an overtly seductive pose.

Was this some kind of prank?

"Doctor!" said Vala. He'd never heard the title purred at him before. This was a first.

Warner cleared his throat, and donned his finest professional mein.

"Miss Maldoran," he said politely, "What seems to be the problem? Nurse Abrams mentioned abdominal pain?"

Vala hopped deftly off the exam bed and snaked her arm sinuously across his shoulder, and reached around to fondle an earlobe.

"I'm lonely!" she sighed ( ... )

Yeah, it's Vala's vulnerability that "makes" the character for me. She works hard to hide it, but if it weren't there, she'd be amusing, but after a while it would get to be annoying.

Btw, would you mind if I posted this on my lj? Usually when I write comment fic I think of it as a gift, and don't re-post, but I have a number of f'listers who are Vala fans, and since I don't write her much, I thought they might enjoy this, and I don't want to direct people to an f'locked post. Rude! Rude! Rude!

I could then link to wanderingsmith's non-locked posting of the list.

But, your giftie, your call.
