"Gideon/Reid. Set post “Uncanny Valley”. Kinks: self-confidence and sex in nature/under the sky

Prompt:
By pure chance they meet again when the BAU gets a case in the countryside. Gideon’s turned on by Reid’s new-found self-confidence and grown-up demeanor, so Gideon is finally able to give in to the attraction he always felt for Reid without having to consider himself a perv. Hot sex in a grainfield under the open sky ensues. Bonus points if Reid gets a sunburn from this. Positive reactions (like “Finally!”) from the rest of the team, please.

“Hey, I think there’s a diner around here,” Reid said.  “Anyone want coffee?”

He was answered by four tired-sounding affirmatives.  It was six in the morning and the team had just gotten off the jet.  An emergency call the previous night had sent them scrambling for their travel bags and onto the jet for a three-hour flight to the small town of Fennimore, Wisconsin.  The local sheriff had called them in a bit of a panic with five bloody bedrooms and seven missing bodies on his hands after two days.  Someone was driving around to the remote farms in the areas and butchering the residents.

Reid found the diner where expected and to his relief, it was open.  The community here, comprised largely of small-time farmers, rose early and from the chatter inside, it seemed like they enjoyed it.

Reid walked up to the counter and explained to the rosy, busty woman who apparently owned the location that he just wanted five coffees, as large as she had.  He paid her and she set about staring another pot to brew, since Reid’s order emptied the last one.

Reid took a seat at the bar, holding his briefcase in his lap and noticing the strange looks he was getting.  He didn’t know these people and they were obviously a tight-knit community.  He found himself profiling them without even meaning to.  Normally murders were hard to come across in places like this, but when they happened, the impact was huge.  It was very easy for unsubs to slip past even the most watchful neighbors, and it was very even easier for guilt and fear to cripple the surrounding friends.

So Reid was staring at his hands on the counter and not paying any attention when he heard a familiar voice somewhere to his right, greeting the woman who was bringing Reid his coffees.  “Here you are, sir,” she said, but Reid’s gaze had snapped to the man waiting to pay.  As she set the coffees down, the man glanced over to see who was getting such a strange order, and their eyes met.

It was Gideon.

“Gideon!” Reid exclaimed.  “What are you doing here?”

Gideon looked bemused.  “I live here,” he said, gesturing around.  Then he frowned, and his gaze snapped back to Reid.  “What are you doing here?  What happened?”

“There’s…well, you know,” Reid said.  He looked around the room and Gideon clearly understood the message.  Reid didn’t want to frighten everyone here.  Gideon nodded.

“I have to go,” Reid said.  “We just got here, they called us in last night.  We’ve got less than a day to work with right now.”

“I understand,” Gideon said.

“Do you…do you want to come back and see the team?” Reid offered, carefully balancing the coffees.

“No,” Gideon said, shaking his head.  “I’d rather not.”

“Okay,” Reid said.  He started to leave, then paused.  “I have a card in my wallet, take one.  Call me later, I want to talk to you.”

“Where?” Gideon asked.

“Back pocket.”

Reid turned and Gideon carefully extracted his wallet, flipped it open, grabbed the first card, and looked on the back.  Reid had hand-written his new cell phone number there.

“Thank you,” Gideon said as he replaced the wallet.  “Just call me back when it works for you.  Good luck.”

“Thanks,” Reid said.  He started to leave, then paused and turned towards Gideon and leaned in close.  “Keep all of your doors locked,” he said, low enough so that only Gideon could hear him.  Gideon nodded and Reid flipped his hair out of his eyes with a casual toss of his head and left.

“Old friend?” Maggie asked as she slid Gideon his usual breakfast order.

“Very,” Gideon answered, before turning back to his food.

But try as he might, Gideon couldn’t eat.  He picked lamely at his food to the point where Maggie noticed and commented and Gideon gave some excuse of feeling a bit under the weather before slipping his tip under the plate and leaving.  He got into his car and sat down, resting his hands on the steering wheel and taking a deep breath.  His home was being threatened.  He hadn’t heard of any murders, but it seemed like the team had decided to play this one close to the chest for whatever reason.  But this was his sanctuary, and he had to keep it safe.

So before he could double-guess himself, Gideon turned the key in the ignition and drove straight down to the station.

No one noticed him when he walked in the front door, but Gideon quickly spotted the team gathered around a bulletin board in back.  Reid was standing in front of it, gesturing to a map and talking animatedly to the group of officers watching.  Some were nodding, some were taking notes.  Gideon’s stomach dropped when he saw the red pins on the map.  He approached the back of the group.

The sheriff spotted him.  “Jason,” he said, and touched Gideon’s arm.  “Maybe it would be better if you came back another time.”

Gideon shook his head.  “No,” he said.  “Don’t worry, I know what’s going on.”

The sheriff stared.  “How?”

Gideon nodded towards the BAU.  “Those are my former co-workers,” he said. He ignored the sheriff’s shocked stare.  “I’d prefer if you kept that to yourself,” he said.

The sheriff nodded.

Gideon started paying attention to what Reid was saying as he explained the nature of the killer and the crimes.  Gideon heard a few familiar names get tossed around and he shook his head.  He couldn’t run from this life.

Gideon kept waiting for Hotch to stand up and silence Reid with a gesture, but it never happened.  Hotch and the others waited silently off to the side as Reid explained the entire profile.  One when Reid decided he was done did Hotch add a few more points, and then the sheriff walked forward and started to address his officers.  As he did, Hotch’s gaze wandered to the back of the room.

Whoops, Gideon thought.  Time to go say hello.

He walked forward and was met with four shocked stares and Reid’s casual wave.

“David Rossi,” was the first thing Gideon said and held out his hand.  “Nice to see you again, I hadn’t realized you came back to the BAU.”

“Decided I wasn’t done yet,” Rossi said with a faint smile.

“What are you doing here?” Hotch asked, direct to the point.

“I spoke to Reid in the diner,” Gideon explained.  Hotch gave Reid a look, a “Why-didn’t-you-tell-me-Gideon-lived-here” look, and Gideon expected Reid to look chastised, but Reid just shrugged at him.  Gideon’s jaw almost dropped, but he controlled himself and looked back at Hotch.  “You’re here, so obviously something is wrong.  I want to help.”

“Gideon…” Hotch started.

“This is my home, Aaron,” Gideon said.  “You’re not going to be able to keep me from protecting it.”

Hotch’s mouth tightened.  He obviously didn’t like the idea.  “Fine,” he finally said.  “You will work as a civilian aid.  You don’t get a badge, you don’t get a gun.”

Gideon pulled his jacket back to show his gun strapped to his hip.

“Only in self-defense,” Hotch said.

“Lighten up, Hotch,” Reid said from where he stood a few feet away, not looking up from the folder he was reading.

Hotch glanced at him, then back to Gideon.  “All right,” he said.  He allowed himself a tight smile and reached out and shook Gideon’s hand.  “Welcome back.  Let’s stop this one before we lose anyone else.  It’ll be helpful to have a link into the community.  And Jason-it’s good to see you.”

Reid filled Gideon in on the details of the case and Gideon found he agreed exactly with the profile Reid had given the officers.  After Gideon gave his greetings to the rest of the team, who were all delighted to see him and promised they would catch up later, Hotch sent Morgan and Prentiss out with some officers on patrol.  Then he, Reid, and Gideon all went out to ask the first victim’s husband a few questions that had arose during their conversation.

Gideon sat in the passenger seat and Reid climbed into the back like he always had.  The ride gave Gideon a chance to really get a good look at the young agent sitting behind him staring out the window.

Reid looked different.  His hair was longer than Gideon remembered it having ever been and there was a look in his eyes… The shadows were darker and he frowned at the landscape as it went by.  He was thinking instead of speaking, and the expression on his face was dark.  No longer was he the bumbling, awkward boy that Gideon had known.  There was a man sitting in the back of the car, and Gideon couldn’t help but let his mind wander back to endless nights when he had punished himself for the attraction he’d felt towards Reid because of his innocence.  The man Gideon was watching right now was anything but innocent.  What had happened to him?

The car stopped and the three men stepped out and Gideon shook himself, reminding himself to pay attention to the matter at hand.

When they got to the front door and knocked, no one answered.  “Maybe he isn’t home,” Reid said, looking around.

Gideon gestured to the driveway.  “Car’s there,” he said.  “He has to be around here somewhere.”

“I’ll check around back,” Reid said, shielding his eyes from the sun with his hands.  “It looks like there’s a barn.” Hotch, who had just answered his phone, nodded and gestured to Reid to continue.

Gideon went with him and they saw that the barn door was slightly open.  “Mr. Tanaway?” he called out, and slowly pushed the door open and looked inside.

It took him a second for his eyes to adjust, but what he saw when they did made him freeze.

Mr. Tanaway was sitting in the middle of the barn crouched over one of seven dead bodies that littered the floor.  And he was looking right at Gideon.  In a moment, he had a gun out and pointed at the older man.

“Mr. Tanaway…” Gideon said, raising his hands slowly.  He made a gesture with his hand for Reid: He has a gun.  “Let’s just calm down, okay?  Set the gun down, and we can talk about this.”

“Gideon, get out of the way,” came Reid’s hushed voice from the side.

Gideon shook his head slightly.

“Gideon, I am ordering  you to get out of the way,” Reid hissed.  “You’re not with the FBI, I can’t allow you to negotiate.”

“Come on, let’s just talk, okay?” Gideon said gently, putting on a disarming smile.  “What can I do to you?  I don’t have a gun.”

“You’ll get the cops!” Mr. Tanaway’s voice was frantic.  Gideon knew he needed to calm him down.  He noticed Reid slipping away form his side.

“I think you know that I’m not going anywhere as long as you’re here,” Gideon said.  He nodded towards the body the man was crouching over.  “Is that Samantha?” he asked.

“It was her fault!” Mr. Tanaway shouted.

“I don’t doubt it,” Gideon said, nodding encouragingly.  “Believe me, I know women.”

Mr. Tanaway looked uncertain and while his grip relaxed slightly, the gun remained pointed at Gideon.  Gideon made sure to keep the left half of his body behind the door as much as possible.

As Gideon continued to talk calmly to Mr. Tanaway, he noticed a shape appear in the back of the dark room.  It was Reid, creeping in through a doorway that led to the back.  The younger man had his gun out and the way his hair fell across his eyes was positively frightening.  His eyes were fixed and intense and he moved with absolute silence until he was directly behind Tanaway.  Gideon was very careful to keep his voice and gaze the exact same the entire time.

Reid must have decided that he was close enough, because he dove at Tanaway.  The moment he did, Gideo ducked out of the barn and covered his head with his arms.  He heard a gun go off and his heart started racing.  After a second, he stood up and threw the barn door open and ran in.

Reid had his knee between Tanaway’s shoulders and was yanking his arms back and forcing his wrists into cuffs.  “Get up,” he said, and hauled the man to his feet.

Hotch came running in a second later.  “What-” he started, surveying the scene.

Reid shoved Tanaway at Hotch.  “I haven’t Mirandized him yet,” he said, and stalked off.

Hotch tried to stop Reid, but couldn’t try for very long before he had to begin reciting Tanaway his rights and Gideon ran after Reid.  “Spence-”

“You do realize how unacceptable that was, don’t you?” Reid demanded, whirling on him.  “You’re not in the BAU anymore, Gideon!  You can’t just go putting yourself in danger like that!  He could have killed you!”

Gideon was shocked.  “Spencer…”

Reid just shook his head and walked away.  They waited for the local police to arrive before shoving Tanaway into the car and driving back to the station in silence.

Hotch got a full debrief on the events as they had passed from both Reid and Gideon.  After Reid had calmed down, he agreed with Hotch that it had been the correct move for Gideon to stay where he was.  A change in negotiators might have spooked Tanaway even more and caused him to fire.

“Get packed up,” Hotch told the team after they had all returned and gathered around the table.  “This one is pretty cut-and-dry.”

“I wish all our cases were that easy,” Prentiss said with a roll of her eyes.

“You got that right,” Morgan said, wiping his forehead.  “I am ready to get out of this hell hole.”

“Hell hole?” Gideon asked good-naturedly.  “What, is all this good, clean air too much for your body?”

“It’s the humidity I can’t take,” Morgan said.

“What are you complaining about?” JJ asked, holding up her limp curls.  “You don’t have any hair to get ruined!”

Gideon shook his head to himself.  Nothing had changed.  He noticed Reid leaning over the table with Hotch, running his finger down a file and talking.  Well…almost nothing.  Gideon allowed himself a moment to run his eyes over Reid’s body, down the sides of his neck to his defined collar, past the well-fit jacket that showed the slight curve of his waist, the way it was bent ever-so-slightly forward, the perfect angle to be grabbed from behind, and then a quick glance at the slender hips and legs before looking back up at his face.  He found himself looking right into Reid’s eyes.  Oops.

Reid raised an eyebrow at him and gestured with his hand: Come here .

Gideon walked over and Reid straightened.  “I’m going to stay here for a few days, Hotch,” he said.  “Catch up.”

Hotch also stood up.  “That’s fine,” he said.  “Keep your phone on you in case we have to be somewhere.”

Reid nodded.  “Of course,” he said.   He turned to Gideon, who seemed a little speechless.

Morgan, Prentiss, and JJ joined them.  “Ready to go?” Morgan asked.

“I’m ready,” Hotch said.  “Reid’s staying.”

“Enjoy nowhere-land, man,” Morgan said.  He turned and shook Gideon’s hand.  “Good to see you.  Take care.”

They all exchanged their goodbyes, then Reid gathered his belongings and followed Gideon out to his car.

On the drive out of town Gideon got caught up on how Reid was, but refused to answer any questions about himself.  “I want you to see my home first,” he kept saying.

Finally they made a turn onto an unpaved road and dipped down into a small valley.  Reid saw a well-kept farmhouse set up against a hill next to two worn-down looking old barns and a grain silo.  There was a fence surrounding the house and the barns and what looked like an almost-ripened wheat field on the other side.

“My neighbor’s land,” Gideon explained.  “I don’t do any farming, but I love being surrounded by it.”

“It’s beautiful,” Reid said, looking around at the rolling green land that seemed to stretch on forever.  There were storm clouds in the distance on the horizon, dark and foreboding, and there was an air of calm that seemed to hang over the valley they descended into.

Gideon helped Reid bring his things inside.  The house was beautiful and old.  Perfectly placed pictures and collections covered every room.  Gideon showed Reid to the guest room where he could set his belongings down before giving him the grand tour.  Reid especially loved the dining room that jutted out from the house and had three walls that were filled with windows.  He walked to the end and touched the glass, looking out past the barn and over the land.  The wheat field curved around the valley and disappeared, like a golden river cutting through the everlasting green.

At the end of the tour, Gideon noticed that Reid was rubbing his eyes and yawning.  He knew the team had been up late and realized that his guest was likely jet-lagged and worn out from the day’s events.  He offered Reid the shower and recommended that he take a nap.  Reid graciously accepted.

While Reid showered and napped, Gideon began preparing a meal for dinner.  He lowered the volume of his CD player and danced around the kitchen as he worked.  The storm came and went, leaving the world outside looking clean and refreshed.

When Reid emerged from the guest room, there were still plenty of hours of daylight left.  Gideon had already packed up a few bags and he cajoled the doctor into joining him for a picnic, in order to better acquaint him with the countryside.  He noticed Reid seemed to protest more for show than anything else.

As Reid reached out to take one of the bags, Gideon swore that he purposefully brushed his arm as he turned back around.  Gideon shook himself.  Stop lusting after the kid , he told himself.  They were words he had repeated to himself often at the BAU.  But even as he thought them now, he knew they were empty.  The Reid standing in his home was no kid.

Gideon led Reid outside and over the fence into the wheat field.  There was a well-trod path through the crops to a small plot of land where the seed hadn’t taken.  The ground was still damp, so they spread out a tarp underneath the blanket and then sat down to enjoy their meal.

Gideon had brought a bottle of wine, freshly-baked bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, some thinly-sliced asiago cheese, prosciutto, and still-warm blackberry tarts.  Gideon poured the two glasses of dark red wine and they clinked them together before setting up a game of chess.

The game lasted for a while.  While they played, Reid finally got to ask Gideon about his life and what he had been doing all this time.  Gideon answered willingly and honestly.  He couldn’t explain the serenity he had found in this little valley, among these people.

“I’m glad you’re happy here,” Reid said.

After the game ended in a stalemate, they chatted for a while, about the world, about the weather, about the wine.  “Every day I am amazed by the beauty here,” Gideon said.  He held up his half-empty glass and looked at the color of the wine against the wheat in the sunshine.  Then he shifted his gaze slightly to see Reid looking up at the sky.  The sun was forcing him to squint and it was doing marvelous things to his face and hair.  Reid was practically basking in the warmth.  Then Gideon found himself looking right into Reid’s eyes for the second time that day.  Oops again.

“Gideon,” Reid murmured.

Gideon felt shivers run up and down his spine with the way Reid said his name.  “Mm?”

Reid swallowed the last of his wine and carefully set the glass down before crawling over to the older man.  “My mom always told me that if I wanted something and didn’t ask, I might regret it for the rest of my life.”

“What is it you want to ask?” Gideon asked.

Reid smiled faintly.  “I think you’re  the one with something to ask,” he said.

Gideon’s mouth went dry.  Was Reid coming on to him?  He glanced down at his lap and tried to think of a response.

Reid watched him patiently, and when he seemed to decide that Gideon needed encouragement, he wrapped his arm around the older man’s shoulder and gently nudged their foreheads together.  “You think I didn’t hero-worship you?” he asked.

“Of course you did,” Gideon said, allowing himself a chuckle.  “But more like a father than-”

Reid silenced him with a searing kiss.  When he pulled back and looked into Gideon’s stunned face, he shook his head with a small smile.  “No, not like a father,” he said.

“Spencer,” Gideon whispered.

Reid shook his head with a smile and reached out and pressed his finger to Gideon’s lips.  “Hush,” he said softly, and leaned in and kissed Gideon again.

Gideon could feel himself letting go to this, could feel his arm stretching out to take Reid and pull him closer, and he forced himself to pull back instead.  “You’re younger than my son,” he said.  He couldn’t look Reid in the eyes.

Reid looked hurt.  “Is that all that matters?”

“No,” Gideon said quickly.  “It’s just-I always wanted-but you were so young-you’re still  so young-”

Reid’s shoulder shook in a silent laugh as he glanced down.  He swallowed, licked his lips, and looked back into Gideon’s eyes.  “I’m not a child anymore,” he said.  “Do you want me or not?”

Gideon felt like a thunderclap had just struck him in the back of the head.  There was a raw seductive power in Reid’s voice and he knew without a doubt that the answer to that question was yes, yes, undoubtedly yes!   For a moment he was frozen, and then he shifted forward, his hand coming up to touch Reid’s face.  Their eyes met, Reid smiled and tilted his face into Gideon’s palm and his eyes slid shut.  Gideon’s breath hitched slightly.  Reid’s face was glowing in the sunshine.  The shadows under his eyes seemed lighter.  He leaned forward, paused only for a second, and then curled his hand around the back of Reid’s neck and pulled him into a kiss.

The next thing Gideon felt were Reid’s hands trailing down his back.  One pressed into the small of his back while the other moved up and down along his spine.  And Gideon realized, this was happening.  This was actually happening.  “Spence,” he murmured against the younger man’s mouth.

Reid responded by pushing Gideon backward onto the ground.  Gideon couldn’t even remember the last time someone had climbed on top of him like this.  Reid’s body lowered over him and settled his weight comfortably on Gideon’s hips.  As his shadow covered Gideon’s face, the man felt the warmth of the sun disappear.  He could hardly complain about that, though, when Reid’s body was snaking against his.  The young man’s tongue was delving into his mouth and Gideon could taste the wine.  He took a breath in through his nose and the earthy scent of the land and the wheat mixed with the clean way Reid smelled overwhelmed him and he couldn’t keep the groan from his throat.

Reid pulled away and rested his forehead against Gideon’s, panting and laughing softly.  He wasn’t stopping, though, he was slowly but surely rubbing his hips against Gideon’s, squeezing him between his legs.  Gideon groaned again and reached out and gripped Reid’s waist, pulling him down harder.  Reid pressed a firm, quick kiss to his lips before sitting up and leaning back.  He rested his weight on his arms and Gideon’s hands slid down to his thighs, squeezing.  Reid made an appreciative noise and started grinding against Gideon faster.

Gideon gasped as the friction suddenly started feeling unbelievably good.  It had been a very long time since Gideon had had the time or desire to be aroused, but oh god, the way Reid was moving above him…

Gideon opened his eyes and looked up at the doctor.  The sun was behind his head, leaving him mostly in silhouette, but Gideon could tell that his eyes were closed and he was biting his lip.  His head was back and he was moving his body in a graceful S motion, first by shrugging his shoulders forward and them rolling them back and following with his chest and his waist.  Every time he shifted, Gideon could feel streaks of pleasure shooting through his groin.  He was definitely getting aroused now.

The desire to reciprocate came over Gideon and he slowly pushed his hands up Reid’s thighs.  He massaged them as he went and finally his fingertips came together right between Reid’s legs.  The younger man was already completely hard and Gideon pressed his palm over the erection and rubbed it slowly through the fabric.  Reid made an appreciative noise.

Gideon squeezed and fondled his companion for only another minute before his impatience overwhelmed and he found the button on Reid’s pants and undid the zipper with shaking fingers.  He was wearing boxers and it wasn’t long at all before Gideon found the opening and pulled Reid’s cock out.

That broke Reid’s rhythm and he stilled.  Gideon wrapped one hand around Reid and rubbed him up and down, twisting his wrist.  He moved very slowly, stopping every time he reached the tip to run his thumb all around the head.  Christ, the kid was already leaking precum.

Reid was licking his lips deliciously.  “Gideon,” he whispered, and whimpered.  “Gideon, wait, I want you-” With what looked like a massive amount of effort, Reid straightened and backed off of the older man’s body.  “I want you to be just as hard,” he said, and without wasting any time, began to remove Gideon’s pants.

“Take off your clothes,” Gideon said, and they undressed together.  When they were fully naked, Reid took a moment to gaze at Gideon’s body.  Gideon turned his head away, a little embarrassed.  “I know I’m not exactly young…” he started.

“I don’t care about that,” Reid said.  “It’s you.”  He reached up and touched Gideon’s face with a smile, and then before Gideon knew it, he had leaned down and gripped his semi-hard cock and wrapped his lips around it.

Gideon groaned.  “Ah-Spence-” he managed.

Reid was no novice at this task.  He bobbed his head up and down, easily swallowing Gideon’s entire erection into his mouth and then into his throat.  He held his head still when his nose pressed against Gideon’s belly, swallowing repeatedly, massaging his cock with his throat and tongue.  It didn’t take much of that before Gideon was just as hard as Reid.

“Come here,” Gideon gasped, tugging at Reid’s shoulder.

Reid released him carefully and pressed several more kisses around the swollen head and swirled his tongue around the tip a few more times for good measure before crawling up and laying down on top of Gideon and kissing him again.

Gideon wrapped his arms around Reid’s slender body and lifted one of his knees up between his legs and they moved slowly together, rubbing and panting.  The heat from the sun was surrounding them and Reid’s body was becoming sweat-slicked beneath Gideon’s fingers.  He ran his hand up the back of Reid’s neck and into his hair.  Reid bit Gideon’s lip and pulled back gently.  He moved his mouth to Gideon’s jaw and nipped a trail down his face to his neck and his collar.

“Roll over,” Gideon gasped.

Reid obeyed immediately, moving off of Gideon and lowering himself down onto his back next to Gideon.  Gideon rolled onto his side and ran his hand down Reid’s chest, feeling his smooth skin, finding the tiny trail of baby-find hairs that led to his groin.  He gripped Reid’s erection again and pushed himself up to better see the doctor’s reactions.

Reid licked his lips quickly as his face flickered through different expressions of complete bliss.  He made that whimpering sound again and Gideon felt it race straight through his body.  That was too much.  He looked around.  “Oil,” he said.

Reid nodded and sat up.  He was closer to the bottle.  He grabbed it and poured some of the oil into his hand.  He looked up at Gideon through heavy lashes as he reached out and rubbed Gideon’s cock, coating it with the oil.

“Are you sure?” Gideon asked.

Reid nodded and pushed Gideon back again.  As he climbed on top of him, he twisted his arm behind himself and rubbed his fingers between his legs.  Gideon couldn’t see, but he was pretty sure Reid was coating himself inside, as well.

And then Reid was straddling him, reaching down and taking Gideon’s erection firmly in hand and lowering himself down onto it.

Gideon watched with rapt attention as Reid guided his body down.  Before long, he was all the way inside and Reid stopped there to let them both savor the feeling. Then he leaned forward and rested his arms on either side of Gideon’s head and settled himself into a comfortable position where he could kiss the older man as he began moving his hips up and down.

The tight friction from Reid’s body was making Gideon’s heart race.  He couldn’t stop himself from thrusting up each time Reid pulled away, trying to stay buried inside him at all times.  Reid’s tongue was flickering against his, their breath was intermingling, their bodies moving together.

Reid had a stamina that Gideon just couldn’t match and he found himself relieved that the younger man was riding him.  It gave him the time to savor the experience.  It was heat and earth and so, so good.

They rocked for longer than Gideon could keep track of.  Reid was bent over him, moaning and gasping, his arms tucked around under Gideon’s neck and head, pressing their cheeks together.  They weren’t kissing now, they were too focused on the joining of their bodies.

“Gideon-harder-” Reid gasped suddenly, and Gideon thrust his hips up as fast as he could.  It made Reid cry out deliciously and Gideon felt him cum onto his abdomen.  Just knowing that the younger man was in the midst of his orgasm pushed Gideon over the edge and his strangled moan joined Reid’s and they froze together, all white heat and sobbing breaths, before they collapsed.

It was some time later when Reid lifted his head off of Gideon’s chest and looked into his former mentor’s face.  He smiled as Gideon reached up a hand and smoothed Reid’s hair away.  Reid leaned forward and kissed him, then settled back down.

“It’ll be dark soon,” Gideon said.

“Good,” Reid said.

“Good?”

“Then we can move to your bed.”

Gideon chuckled.  “If you think I’m up for that again…”

He felt the grin.  “Even if you’re not up for that, there’s no way I’m sleeping in your guest room.”

Gideon grinned as well and stroked the back of his hand along Reid’s face.  He could feel heat radiating from the young man’s skin.  He frowned.  “I think you’re getting burnt.”

Reid shrugged.  “Oh well,” he said.

But Gideon insisted on getting him inside.

Later that night, after Gideon found out that he was up for more of that again, the two men were laying tangled together under the sheets when a beeping from the floor woke them up.

“That’s Hotch’s ring,” Reid said drowsily and rolled away, groping around on the floor.  He grabbed his pants, fumbled for the pocket, and finally found his phone.  He flipped it open and lay back.  “Yeah Hotch.” A moment of silence.  “Yeah-yeah.  Okay.  Mmkay.  I’ll be there.”

Gideon’s heart sunk.  “Where are you headed?” he asked, as soon as the phone had flipped shut.

“Denver,” Reid murmured.  He rolled back into Gideon’s arms.  “I’ll be back, though,” he said.  “And I don’t have to leave until morning.”

Gideon drove him to the airport five hours later and the shook hands in what looked like a very polite parting, but the squeeze was firm and the gazes knowing.  “See ya, kid,” Gideon said.  Reid smiled and nodded before disappearing into the doors.

Reid joined up with the team at the Denver City police headquarters later that afternoon.  As soon as Morgan saw him, his eyebrows shot up.  “Pretty boy got sun,” he said.  The rest of the team turned.

Reid’s skin was bright red.  He walked up to them with his hands in his pockets.  “Yeah,” he said, cringing.

“What were you doing?” Morgan asked, looking at Reid over the tops of his sunglasses.  “That burn goes all the way down-” He broke off.

Prentiss snuck up behind Reid and managed to get a look at the back of his neck and down his collar.  “It’s his back, too,” she said.  She winced.  “Looks bad.”

“Reid,” Morgan said, in laughing amazement.  “Were you shirtless?”

Reid bit his lip, thinking for a moment.  “Is there any reason I could give you that you’d believe besides the one you’re thinking of?”

“No,” Morgan said.

JJ approached.  “Reid was shirtless?” she asked.

“With Gideon, outside, apparently.”

JJ rolled her eyes.  “Finally!”

Reid’s gasp of objection made them all laugh.  That was when Hotch and Rossi walked up.  Hotch raised an eyebrow in the younger agent’s direction.  “Nice burn, Reid,” he said.  “What were you doing?”

“As far as I can figure,” Prentiss said, “Since the back of his neck is so much worse, he was sitting on top of Gideon.”

“Prentiss!” Reid protested.

“Ah, good,” Hotch said, and Rossi just chuckled.  Hotch glanced at him.  “I don’t know why you’re laughing,” he said.  “You owe me 20 bucks.”
