Sacrifice
Solar watched the woman struggle to escape the ropes that held her bound to the chair. Her screams were starting to fall into sobs again so Solar flared a small fireball and threw it at her feet. It had the desired effect, the womans screams renewed and someone should hear them soon.
Moving back into the darkness it became a waiting game. If a hero didn't show up soon she would be forced to use the hostage as her sacrifice. It wasn't long before a hero came, alone, foolish. Solar blasted him from behind knocking him out. He would do.

Mortality
Her father was whispering in her ear, explaining the ritual, reminding her of her heritage. “A goddess, the child of Ares, god of war.” She had big shoes to fill and this would be another step of many. The hostage was dead, an unfortunate reality. Solar didn't feel anything for the woman, she didn't feel anything for anyone. She paused while preparing the hero for the ritual, looking at the broken body of the woman, did she feel anything? She didn't know. She saw mortality in those empty eyes, something she was assured she never had to worry about.

Ritual
Solar recited the incantation. The ritual was almost finished. The now naked hero had stopped struggling, the smoke that wafted around him was laced with opium and his mind was lost to it.
“He is ready Father.” Solar stepped back from the altar.
“He will do perfectly.” Her father hissed. His shadowy form shimmered as it settled over the delusional hero. “Finish it.”
Solar nodded and recited the rest of the incantation. Dipping her fingers into the sacred oil she splashed the hero's body. They both screamed, her father's form sinking into the soft flesh of the vessel. Then silence.

Water
Solar let the vessel sink down into the sea. This was the last step, if the ritual worked her father would be reborn. “Reborn.” she thought to herself, “Reborn where?” This her father could not answer. Solar waited, hovering over the waves. “Father.” she whispered. “Where are you?” The water didn't answer. She half expected to see a glow, or churning where he would rise and come back to her.
She turned to leave, disappointed. As she flew towards shore a figure appeared there. Naked, standing silent in the distance was the hero. He was handsome, chiseled, strong. Things she did not notice before. As she flew closer she noticed his eyes, they were her fathers.
