He’d never have a family. Of course he had had parents and a sister, an uncle and his aunt. The war took them all, tore him apart from his flesh and blood.
Now he was the lonesome wolf, a rebel, a fighter. Fighters do not need a family. Fighters do not long for love.
Lance kept himself away from his comrades; he barely talked to them or got befriended to someone. And for sure he never was eager to get involved into a relationship.
But things can change and they did. He never felt lonely though he was alone, but now he did. What was this warm feeling deep inside him, this longing for company?
Lance raised his head and watched the young blonde man sitting right beside him, his dark eyes crossing with the blonde blues and a deep smile appeared on the other man’s face.
Yes, Lance would never have children. But Hank’s smile felt like home.
