Smoker wasn't one to worry about burns. He was virtually a chimney stack of constant smoke and smoldering cigars, playing with fire was just a part of that. Fire couldn't hurt him, fire was his to tame damn it and it needed to learn to obey. Nevertheless, the marine had a secret. With his all too pale fair white skin, so looking like his smoke element, and reminiscent of his White Hunter title; he actually got sunburned like a lobster if he wasn't careful. He blushed easily, and too much sun turned him just as bright red. Even in the desert, Smoker was careful to keep his jacket on. And on the few occasions he chose to go topless and enjoy the ocean breezes, he had to make sure to keep his devil fruit secretly shielding him from the damn UV rays. Being pale was such a drag.
