For the umpteenth time of the afternoon, Pastrycook checks the clock and swallows. Any time now…
Pacing nervously, he tries to remind himself of the signs he has smurfed up: the rare, glorious smiles, the eyes that never fail to smurf his, and the sheer amount of time they already spend together. Anyway, there's no smurfing out of it now. The cake he has invited Grouchy over to share bears these two little words, and the biggest question mark of his whole smurfy life: Date me?
Someone knocks at the door - Grouchy.
His throat is so dry now; Pastrycook swallows.
