Just as she was about to run out the door, Audrey's cell phone went off.

Please don't be work-related, she thought to herself. It had been a busy week - busy month, really - and she'd been looking forward to a non-work-related evening for days. With a sigh, she reached into her small evening clutch and answered her phone

It's not like he purposely tries to be fashionably late - well, to a degree, he guesses, to keep up appearances - but Bruce always finds himself inevitably running behind. Right now it's because he can't find his cuff-links. It's really not a big deal, but he can't show up without them

"Not at all," Audrey smiles. She's wearing a well-cut designer dress that shows off her figure without being too revealing and is holding a thin shawl with her purse. "I was running a little late myself - I got home from work later than I thought I would."

"Good. I don't feel so bad now." He laughs again, putting a hand on her back as he guides her towards the car. "You look great, by the way," Bruce says as he opens the door for her.

"Thank you," Audrey gets into the car. "I'm sure you hear it all the time, but nice car."
