I just found out the tution fee for the masters I'm going to apply for has gone up from £3,500 to a whopping  £4,650 and that's for 2006! It could get higher for next year! It's disgusting! It's nothing special, just an advancement on the units I'm doing now. I'll have to take out loans. My advisor told me to apply for a scholarship but I know I'm ( Read more... )

Yes it is and it's putting me off going there. I've just been told that for 1,500 euros I can study in Holland and will get half refunded for being a EU student so I'm going to apply. :)

I'm considering Vrije University Amsterdam instead. It offers a MSc in biology in English for just under 1,500 euros plus someone told me I'll get half back for being an EU student but it says the requirements for international students are individual so I've sent an email to get an general idea if I have a chance. If not I'll look else where in Holland! :D

Good luck with that! Sounds great. Ironic though, that it's cheaper to study abroad when so many foreign students come here to study. Sort of doesn't make sense. :S

Thanks. :)

A lot of international students don't belong to the EU so it wouldn't apply to them. All the EU students I met come for just one year of their course. It is ironic though it'll be cheaper for me to study aboard then in my own country.

Wow @ your parent's debts! :O

Yeah it is just a form but I too can't be bothered. It's for excellent students and I'll probably have to give reasons and all I have to say is that I can't afford it but technically I should at least try. Worse they can say is no.
