The only thing that could possibly make Booth feel better about not seeing Parker on his birthday would be spending it with Bones. He left not too long after they talked, earlier then he needed to in order to get the wine and be there on time, but it worked out, because he had a hard time picking out which wine to get. Eventually he just asked the assistant to pick, and bought the Garnacha she gave him. He knocked on Bones' door about 6:20, grinning.

She heard the knock on the door from the kitchen and checked the clock. Early as usual. She smiled to herself as she headed for the door, swinging it open.

"Hey Booth," she said, stepping aside for him to enter. "Come on in."

"Oh." He grinned wider, that exciting little kid grin, and crossed the threshold, "Do I smell what I think I smell?"

"If you think you smell macaroni and cheese, then yes that is what you smell," she said smiling back.
