A small surprise -- RP thread for captdannyross...

On the Captain's desk, there is a neatly-wrapped gift.  It is square and almost flat in shape.  The wrapping paper is blue, with a silver, wiry ribbon tied around it.  There is a small card attached, addressed, in nearly illegible handwriting, to Danny.

Danny walked into his office and shut the door, drowning out the sounds of his detectives, and moved over to his desk. While glaring at the loss (still) of his nameplate he noticed the gift on his desk. He sat down in his chair and pulled it forward. He turned it around in his hands looking it over then began to open it.

The card read, Happy Hanukkah. If the mountains won't go to Muhammed, maybe Muhammed should go to the mountains. It was signed simply, "ER". Inside the package was a "Video Gaming For Dummies" book, the implication (based on their conversation over the weekend) being that since his boys love video games so much, Danny should learn to play with them.

He got the implication (after a minute) and fanned through the book quickly. He rolled his eyes and shook his head. He glanced at the card again, though, and a small smile came to his lips. After another moment, he set the book and card in his desk drawer and turned to his computer. He pulled up an new email.
