Julianna signed her name on the bottom of the preliminary report and put the report into a file folder. Glad that her workday was finally over, she went to the locker room to change out of her scrubs. A few minutes later, she made her way out of the building. As she did so, Julianna pulled out her cell phone and dialed Patrick Jane's number.

Jane answered the phone with his mouth full of cotton candy. "Hey, Julianna."

"Still up for drinks?" she wanted to know.

He swallowed after a pause for chewing. "Actually, I was thinking since I'm in the area...we could do a road trip? Boston's not far from here."

It was "only" 200 miles, but who was counting?

"Wait--what?" It wasn't that she was opposed - in fact, Julianna had the next few days off - but she was surprised to hear the idea of a road trip coming from Patrick. "What's in Boston - or who, besides --" She couldn't help a laugh. "Don't tell me this has to do with your man crush on Alan Shore."
