Megan Wheeler knocked on the desk, smiling a bit at the M.E. behind it. "Sorry to disturb you," she said, grinning wider, "but Rodgers said I could pick up a file from you. Everrett, James." Were the man alive, he'd probably bitch that she hadn't added "the third" on there, but he was the only one recently dead, so he could live it-- or not. Bad choice of words, she told herself, but it didn't take the smile from her face.

"Ah--Wheeler," Julianna sat up straight. "Just seeing all kinds of you lately." She couldn't help a smirk. "How's it goin'?"

"Going amazing," she said with a grin, "Nichols isn't here and I can actually hear myself think! I'd forgotten what that sounded like." Of course, he wasn't that bad, and Julianna had to know that, far as she was concerned. But it was her right as his partner to pretend not to like him. "How're you?"
