This particular Cyclops was from the Ray Harryhausen epic SEVENTH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, but in general the one-eyed giants were a brutal, cannibalistic bunch.
My favorite Cyclops moment (which I posted here once) was from an Atlas comic which showed Odysseus blinding Polyphemus. Without giving the matter much thought, Stan Lee looked at the panel and had the Cyclops saying, "My EYES!" Not the most accurate dialogue.
I sit corrected, then; I'd had in mind a similar critter from FLESH GORDON.
(And the aforementioned blooper ranks up there with the [possibly apocryphal] story about the SF writer who had a member of a race of one-armed aliens saying, "On the other hand...")
FLESH GORDON did have some sort of animated monster done by Jim Danforth, as I recall. I only saw that movie once or twice in VHS days, but I remember the monster's foul-mouthed comments were the funniest part of the film.
