It's always great reading your Doc adventure recaps, Doc!
This is indeed my favorite Bama cover - though Death in Silver is a close second. The reason is that this cover looks like an intense scene from the mental movie I watched when I read the book.
The Death in Silver pose is, well, a pose. But as a work of art it's amazing.

Thank you for the kind words and the link. James Bama is 84? Heavens. He was the first artist I recognized on paperback covers as a kid.
I must remember to keep track of when Will Murray's new Doc Savage books come out. I only saw Farmer's ESCAPE FROM LOKI by chance in a little hole-in-the-wall bookstore but made an effort to make sure I didn't miss Murray's "new adventures."

I checked out the article, and plead guilty as charged in the last paragraph; I'd been completely unaware of Bama's body of Western art. (Bama may find the texture of feathers and the like a pain in the kazoo to render, but he manages triumphantly; not only the Indians' weathered faces but the fluffiness of their buffalo robes and the proud spiky crest of the Pawnee's hair are downright tangible.)

By the way Mr. Bama was interviewed in the Newark (NJ) Star-Ledger last week:
