Mmm, it's twilight and hot and sultry and the cicadas are out there. Late thunderstorms are forecast. And the dilemma is, do I let the forest smells and eventually the storm and rain smells drift in, or do I burn my 'rainforest' incense? The house is stinky. Maybe I need a bit of both.

Yes, both :)
Did it rain?

we had heavy rain all night. It is still raining steadily now. So nice. Aiming for an early veg shop at Rapid Creek markets (MUST take camera!) and then nightcliff for a wet playground play for the girls and perhaps a laksa :)

I did do both. :) You know what - it didn't rain or storm until late this afternoon. It was a nice thunderstorm, though. There are more forecast over the next couple of days.

Mmm, I wish I could drop in for some of your monsoon (it is monsoon time, yes?). Today I shared a mango with Finn and thought of you. It was probably the most delicious mango I'd ever tasted.

It is monsoon time. Very special indeed :)

I wonder if I'm allowed to send mangoes through the post? I'd love to send you some Bowen or Kensington Pride grown locally - those are the nicest mangoes in the world :) Of course, part of the experience is eating them during the build up when it is stinking hot and humid and there are storms around. your experience today with Finn sounds close...especially if you ate it before the storm.

I even love the word monsoon.

{giggle} Nup, I don't think you'd get mangoes through the post. What a pity you can't email me some. Hey, we get Kensington Pride, not sure about Bowen but I think we get those too... of course they're probably not nearly as nice as the ones you get. It's like how there are daffodil farms around here that sell their daffs all over the place, but the best ones are the ones the farmers sell direct to the local shops - they look and feel as though they've been picked from the fields that very morning and they last and last.

Yes, we did eat our mango before the storm. It was icy cold from the fridge, too.
