Yes, that is rather sad!
I hope you gave it the burial it deserved (some microwaving or at least some "taking it for a scrape" action?
Eppy 2 is still going strong (it's getting a lot of use at the moment), and with any luck it will go on living for a good while yet.

I find the best way to get the attention of staff members, no matter how occupied they are, is to grab something expensive, hold it up above your head and walk towards the door. If no one stops you, it's yours. Bonus!

No, I din't do anything too bad to Eppie, I was fond of it! I think the scrape and microwaving is more related to things that pissed me off, or just nasty things!
I did salvage parts, does that count?
Actually, I have the logic board in my bin minus the complimentory driver transistors for the head motor which are in my parts draw, but it would crackle nicely if exposed to 2.45 GHZ at 1000w!
Gemma and I have managed to order 2 HP colour laser printers for a song from Catch, and I've also got a brother black laser printer. The brother has given some weeredness with non standard paper sizes, but I've just upgraded the drivers and am hoping the issues go away!
As for the HPs, you just buy cheap after market tona, the real stuff would cost twice the value of the whole printer just for black.
When you eventually kill it, you put it down to a balance of echonomics!
Or, grab the new carts, hold them above your head in office works, run out the door, and if you don't get caught, they're yours!!!!
Heh Heh!
