More extra credit opportunities!

Again, if you attend the event and write up a one-and-a-half to two-page paper, explaining what you learned from attending the event, I will award extra points to a formal paper.

Worth two points:

Well, we aren't a match-making service, but there may be some singles wandering about that you could put your moves on.

Not that I'm encouraging such behavior. ;)

Nothing to Do with Extra Credit klrigsbee January 31 2007, 03:07:39 UTC
Dr. AC- This has absolutely nothing to do with the extra credit or actually any of your posts, but I wanted to ask you something about our papers. I am trying to figure out how I am going to write this 1A summary paper. I feel like it is so openended and that I am lost as to what direction to take. I understand that you want us to include the "elements of a plot", but was lost as to how I should start the paper. Should there be an introduction or just start in with the summary? If there is an introduction, what kind of information would be included? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry it took me a while to get to this; my email inbox is a little full today.

Did this mornings discussion answer your question? Basically, you want to just tell the story. You do not have room for winding-up to your summary with a traditional introduction. Just start by introducing the title and author of the book and take off with the summary.

haha I like how the points go up for the Valentine's date night. That's somewhat sad, coaxing people to go to something all about love...for class? It would definitely make for an interesting essay, but not much to learn.

Actually, I raised the points value because you have to pay to get in; the other event is free.

That's a very good combination in a guy. He sounds like a keeper!
