St. Patrick's Day - AKA First Full day Outtah a Cube!

Mar 17, 2006 11:20

[ETA: There appears to be a four leaf clover on the arm of the couch in the parlor. Wilson and Phale will not need it so if a guest would like to wander through and pick it up, it is open to all guests at the Brownstone!!]

After a really hot pr0n scene in the works making love, the two had fallen asleep -well Wilson had slept, Phale had rested, watchful- safely entangled in each others' arms for a few hours and it was mid morning when Wilson finally awoke.

It was tempting to stay abed for the whole day but after the intense activity of the Cube, Wilson knew that he needed to at least move around a bit. He had no desire to leave the Brownstone itself but as he stood in the shower he contemplated going down stairs to make some phone calls and watch a movie. However, as he shaved he was sharply reminded that it was March 17th!

Surfacing from the bathroom he exclaimed brightly to Aziraphale.

"Raphale! It's March 17th."

Then angel had arched an eyebrow silently wondering what this had to do with the price of cab...oh!

"You're right, James love, it is the celebration day for Saint Patrick. And this means?"

"It means...food...beer...not necessarilly in that order!"

Yes, someone definitely had his appetite back!

Phale frowned gently.

"Love, I don't know that you should be going out..."

Wilson grinned and threw himself into his lover's arms. "Then you'll just have to 'order' in so to speak. Grocery stores do deliver you know."

Shades of gray kissed midnight blue as Phale did not seem to happy about the idea of letting a stranger near the Brownstone but Wilson's bright grin and a chance to give the young doctor something to redirect his mind away from his recent ordeal softened the angel's resolve and with a soft kiss he relented.

Wilson called a grocery store and rattled off a list of ingredients. It probably sounded like he was going to cook for a small army but really that was part of the fun of the Irish cooking. Making more than you could ever really need.

For Phale specifically he made Smoked Salmon Hash with a dill vinaigrette.

Of course, what St. Patty's day meal would be complete without slow cooked corned beef brisquet, with cabbage and new potatos, carrots and parsnips? Wilson put together a mixture of apple juice and Guiness stout for the corned beef, some cabbage and the rest to start cooking in while he focused his energies also upon some Irish soda bread.

And for dessert Strawberry-Rhubarb Irish Crumble with Irish Whiskey Batter.

In very short order, the Brownstone was once again full of the scent of cooking and wood smoke as Phale lit a couple of fires in the hearths. Celtic music played on the sound system and in general the townhouse looked warm and inviting once again.

[ooc: Okay, he's making a butt load of food. If anyone would like to stop by to check on Wilson, say hello to Phale or just trip into the brightness that is the Brownstone, there is a beer and some yummies waiting for you. This is a little off the cuff I know but we need a St. Patty's day party people! *starts making some phone calls!*]
