Turned out, the worst patient the NIH ever had to deal with was one of their own. Most took it as a sign of luck that, while dealing with some of the worst diseases mankind had ever seen - they'd faced the plague, for God's sake - they never seemed to get sick.
Unfortunately, for the first time in recorded history, Doctor Stephen Connor had a cold. How he managed to catch it, on the hottest day of the last ten years, was a mystery to his coworkers.
