Question! Er... questions!

I'm looking into selling some things online (more on that later) and I'm curious: what do people like best, PayPal, or Dwolla? I'd never heard of the latter, but it sounds like a potentially better rate than PayPal offers. I have a PayPal account that I'm used to make payments on Etsy, but I've never received payment there before. Is that a ( Read more... )

I have a PayPal account that I use often to pay for stuff and also for payments when I sell stuff on Ebay.

You don't have to have a PayPal email, I just use my regular email. I haven't used it for Ebay for a while, but will be again soon. I don't know what kind of fees there are these days, but I'm going to find out soon.

I can't begrudge them, since they do provide a pretty decent service and are the best known, so people tend to trust them, IMO.

I've not used Dwolla.

I have used PayPal extensively as an etsy seller, so if you have questions... *waves*

I've never used dwolla (and this is the first I've heard of it...) but I think a lot of people - myself included - trust PayPal and feel comfortable using it. I don't know that I'd feel the same about a new/different company. (I mean, I'm sure they're fine, but Internet security being what it is, it's easy to just stick with the ones you know have a good track record.)

I have PayPal simply because all the sites I sell through (ejunkie, Etsy, Craftsy & ebay), link to PayPal. There are fees, etc, but it has been by far the easiest for me to keep up with. I tend to think of the fees as my "rent" since I don't have a brick & mortar shop. To be totally honest, I've never used Dwolla.

I've used paypal to buy a lot of things, and It hink I received money from it once as well. I don't recall it being hard... I love the place.
