Am feeling really happy and content to be playing my violin again! It's taken a lot for me to get back to this stage and to be honest I'm rather proud that I've done it

I'm not sure there is one ergonomic solution. Went to a concert last month and spent some of the evening looking at all the different get-ups the violinists had, from different chin-rests to different shoulder-rests & pads.
Husband didn't understand why I couldn't practice while living in Paris. "- But there's nobody else in your appartment, and it's a huge building, nobody would know it was you if you made mistakes! - I would know, and besides, it's angst, it's not supposed to be reasonable, and it just makes me even more self-conscious now."

I know exactly what you mean, it's often you who is your best critic. I find it hard to get back into playing when I can get so anxious about the mistakes I make.
Schradieck is really rather good and I find it far less intimidating and easier to read than the Flesch book. But I think Flesch would actually be better if I were to learn more pieces from it. I don't suppose you know of any other technique books I could look at? My teacher was sorely lacking on technique focusing more on dynamics and "playing how you feel" but I changed teacher briefly and he told me about those two and I think Kreisler too. I can't help but feel that perhaps there is more I could do to help technique but I'm finding places to look difficult to find. It's my intention to get a teacher to help out with this but I was just curious as to whether you knew of other books I could take a look at?
It was really nice meeting you the other day too! Looking forward to our next widows meeting :)
