The bit that stuck out to me was this, re: Matthew - "But might injurious circumstances take him back to the convalescent unit at Downton, where the fragrant Lady Mary is tending to the brave boys? By Jove! Yes it might."
- that's the first real hint that I've seen in the press that Matthew will get injured and sent back - how exciting!! There was the BTS shot on Better Homes and Gardens which I SWEAR is Matthew, and DS has said he doesn't escape the war "entirely without injury", but this is the nearest to confirmation I've seen.
CANNOT. WAIT. (I still can't stop watching the trailer...)
The reporter's doing a good of toeing the line btw speculation and spoilers and in the process of toying with us. Can't tell whether she's making an educated guess or it's something she saw on set (when she was visiting Highclere Castle, the exact date of which she doesn't specify in the article) with her own eyes.
Eeeeeeee!!! An "insider let slip" that M&M aren't done -- OK, fine, I knew that in my heart, but it is nice to see it in black and white. :D
And you will no doubt be delighted to learn that the entail - the legal settlement that ensured Downton Abbey remains within the family - is crucial to the plot in series two.
As Michelle Dockery would say, "Aha!"
(But...how?)
Glad they pulled the long synopsis...wonder if that was a mistake? Like an internal thing that accidentally got posted? Huh...
Sigh. Many thanks AGAIN -- aww, it' so cool to see it on Twitter. :D
The long synopses for S1 were included at the end of the press pack last year so they'll probably get released to the press again, but perhaps not as publicly as they did last Friday, when everyone (not just the press) had access. (The link was re-tweeted a LOT.) The DA S1 synopses on the Radio Times website are quite detailed, though nowhere near as lengthy as those in the press pack, and maybe that's the point of 'official' synopses, guidelines/summaries for the press to use in their publications.
In any case, I intend to avoid synopses of any kind anywhere as much as I can. I don't mind speculating based on articles, stills, promos, etc. but blow-by-blow or even outline of eps. is not something I wish to be spoiled about. Which means I'll probably have to tread Radio Times like a minefield in the next few months...
lol that was tumblr more than twitter but good point, I didn't pick up on it. Then again, there wasn't much difference this weekend. Caps or no caps, exclamation points, run-on sentences, etc. everyone everywhere was flailing.
Interesting about Lady Mary's tending to the boys since they've gone out of their way to she isn't that involved. But I bet it changed if Matthew came back hurt.
I do not like the triangle being about Richard/Matthew/Mary. I want Mary's heart to be with Matthew (and in spite of what Dan says, I'm sure his heart is with her right back). But it seems likely if Richard does get hurt he's going to strike against the family.
Just because it's described as a triangle (and it IS a triangle) doesn't mean her heart isn't with Matthew (which it is :)). I think many spoilers have made that quite clear.
Yes but that doesn't mean it can't change into a real triangle. I'm sorry, I've just had terribly bad luck with triangles and I can't trust them anymore.

This is all just far too exciting.
